Skilled Businesswoman
It seems that Isabel’s claim to fame as Africa’s richest woman came about due to her father’s power and influence as Angola’s president for over two decades. Nevertheless, she is a skilled businesswoman, and invested in the right companies. She has interests in various businesses in Angola as well as in Portugal. She created a company called Unitel in partnership with Portugal Telecom, and through this company, invested in lots of other companies in media, telecommunications, finance, retail, and the energy sector. She also has companies in Amsterdam and Gibraltar. All of these at just 46 years of age.
