Do Not Expect Good Service All The Time
Some cafes and restaurants have incompetent servers who are not eager to serve you, whether you tip or not. Especially if you do not speak Spanish. It seems some workers take advantage of the fact that there is a law which protects them from being laid-off, unless for a very valid reason, like theft or damaging property. Understanding this will prepare you for lousy service. But it doesn’t mean all places are that way.
