Never Refuse A Shot Of Their National Drink
It is called Aguardiente, and is a local spirit which symbolizes respect and friendship. If offered a shot of this drink, never turn it down as this will insult the person and make him lose face. They offer it as a sign of friendship, refusing it is like refusing their friendship. If you don’t drink, just accept the shot graciously, thank the person, and hold on to it. When the person leaves, you can offer the drink to someone else.
