Sight-seeing at Mount Evans Byway
A sight-seeing tour to Colorado’s 14th tallest peak that traverses some 7,000 feet along the continent’s highest paved road is an experience worth the road trip. In every sense of the word, Mount Evans Scenic Byway, is arguably a nerve-wracking, slow yet breathtaking passage through alpine lakes and meadows, bristlecone-pine stands and the habitats of elk and bighorn sheep. Along the way, you can hike, fish, and go on a picnic. However, the summit is only accessible during summer.
