Speak Fluent English
An average Ukrainian will most likely not be speaking English, so as a first-time tourist, do not expect to get much help on the streets. Ukrainians score poorly in the English language and are predominantly shy. When attempting to ask for help on the streets, be more understanding as the locals are painfully shy and are afraid to commit a mistake.
