“Wait, what? But aren’t those one of the things that you SHOULD be buying from Whole Foods?”
While it may sound surprising, items from the fresh produce section at Whole Foods are more expensive compared to other stores. In fact, a survey by Wedbush Securities in 2017 found that fruits and vegetables are 22% more expensive at Whole Foods than rival chains. Marketwatch suggested that the reason for the chain’s produce being priced higher is that they were organic, while those in other stores were not.
