Golden Week in Hong Kong is a major Chinese holiday that occurs during the first week of October, every single year. People from mainland China arrive to celebrate, which then ends up raising prices of hotel rooms, market prices and almost everything else on the island. So unless you want to compete with even more people, then don’t go during that time.
