34. Proved himself right to death

Jesse William Lazear, an American Physician went away too far to prove how a deadly disease can be transmitted to humans. In 1900, he set out to prove that Yellow Fever can be transmitted through mosquito bites by letting the insect bite him. He successfully proved his case when he did contract the disease – and die – after the infected mosquito bit him.

35. The realistic enactment of death

A good actor plays his part with great realism. But sometimes, this skill could be fatal. In 1958, British actor Gareth Jones was playing the part where his character was having a heart attack. It turned out that he was actually having a heart attack, which caused his death while on stage. The rest of the cast improvised around the incident and finished the show.
