40 Unexpected And Sudden Deaths By Unusual Causes

10. Death by poison inhalation

Margo Jones was a renowned theater director in Dallas, Texas. She was famous for writing stage plays – and she loved to drink. One night Margo and her friends were so drunk that they were kicked out of a party, but they decided to continue their fun at her place. While intoxicated, Margo began spreading paint all over her apartment. The next morning, professionals were called in to take care of the stains with chemicals, more specifically, with carbon tetrachloride, a colorless cleaning solvent. Margo came home to the sweet smelling clean carpet. She worked on her scripts through the night and passed out right on top of the freshly-cleaned carpet. The chemical fumes on the carpet ended up causing her kidneys to fail and she was too weak to move. She died 9 days later at a hospital after she was found barely conscious by her assistant.

11. Maybe a bigger kite isn’t better

Ken Dallion from Long Beach, WA was ready to set the ultimate kite record that no one had ever attempted before. Ken and his team created a 14,000 square foot sized kite (about the size of a football field) and they were going to fly it. The only problem was that 20 mph winds were required to lift the giant kite and after 7 hours of no success, the crew was tired and decided to take a break. Ken wanted to stay behind to strategize and at that exact moment the wind kicked in at high speed. Unfortunately, his foot got caught in one of the many lines inside the kite and he was swept up 30 meters into the air! He was able to untangle himself but sadly his hand slipped and he fell straight to his death.
