Okay, it\u2019s not a UFO but it is a unit that has been officially and publicly shared that was built by the Department of Defense to investigate \u201cUnidentified Aerial Phenomena\u201d or what we know colloquially as unidentified foreign objects, a.k.a. UFOs.<\/p>\n<p>The unit has been named <strong>Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force<\/strong> or UAPTF, which will <em><strong>\u201cimprove [the Department of Defense\u2019s] understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><script type='text\/javascript'>\nif (detectWidth() < 768) { \ndocument.write(\"<div style='text-align:center;'><span style='text-align:center; font-size:12px; color:#777;'>Advertisement<\/span><center><!-- TA_MOB_G1_BTF3_300x250 t4\/2+ fb (content) --><div data-aaad='true' data-aa-adunit='\/117607917\/TA_MOB_G1_BTF3_300x250'><\/div><\/center><\/div>\");\n} else { document.write('<div id=\\'wi-194906\\'><\/div>'); jQuery('#wi-194906').closest('.side-widget').hide();\n}\n<\/script><br \/>\n<script type='text\/javascript'>\nif (detectWidth() < 768) {document.write('<div id=\\'wi-193994\\'><\/div>'); jQuery('#wi-193994').closest('.side-widget').hide(); \n} else { \ndocument.write(\"<div style='text-align:center;'><span style='text-align:center; font-size:12px; color:#777;'>Advertisement<\/span><center><!--TA_G1_BTF1_728V in content --><div data-aaad='true' data-aa-adunit='\/117607917\/TA_G1_BTF1_728V'><\/div><\/center><\/div>\");\n}\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Defense actually released a statement on August 14, 2020, which read <em><strong>\u201cThe mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>While the task force doesn\u2019t claim that these UAPs or UFOs prove the existence of tiny green aliens floating around in the atmosphere, the focus is meant to be more about observing the possibility of other countries violating air space that they aren\u2019t meant to be in.<\/p>\n<p>The statement also shared, <em><strong>\u201cThe Department of Defense and the military departments take any incursions by unauthorized aircraft into our training ranges or designated airspace very seriously and examine each report.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis includes examinations of incursions that are initially reported as UAP when the observer cannot immediately identify what he or she is observing,\u201d it added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But in perfect 2020 fashion, the year has also proven to be a doozy for the Pentagon and UFOs. The August 14 statement had come just months after the Department of Defense leaked three other videos from 2004 and 2015, showing Navy pilots coming into contact with UAPs.<\/p>\n<p>In a New York Times article, one of the pilots that encountered the UAPs described them to be \u2018oblong-shaped and accelerating,\u2019 while saying that they were <em><strong>\u201clike nothing I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Supposedly, it\u2019s been years since the Pentagon first began monitoring aircrafts like these, even capturing the videos of the pilots as they encountered them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_225152\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-225152\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-225152 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-24-at-10.40.13-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"486\" srcset=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-24-at-10.40.13-PM.png 730w, https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-24-at-10.40.13-PM-400x266.png 400w, https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-24-at-10.40.13-PM-640x426.png 640w, https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Screen-Shot-2020-08-24-at-10.40.13-PM-255x170.png 255w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-225152\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Jakarta Post<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It was actually back in December of 2017 when the New York times released an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/12\/16\/us\/politics\/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html\">article<\/a> about the Pentagon\u2019s \u201cMysterious U.F.O. Program,\u201d otherwise known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, which was said to have the same task as the current program.<\/p>\n<p>While the report claimed that the program had ended back in 2012 because the funding had stopped, it was later on reported that the program was continued via the Office of Naval Intelligence. This is when it was renamed it the Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>It also seems fitting that the 45<sup>th<\/sup> president of the United States, Donald Trump, has shown interest in extraterrestrial life and their possible existence. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XINrLuUuS_I&amp;feature=emb_title\">video<\/a> was even produced during his June campaign where he\u2019s talking to his son, Donald Trump Jr., and the president was asked, <em><strong>\u201cbefore you leave office, will you let us know if there\u2019s aliens?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>His son reportedly said, <em><strong>\u201cI want to know what\u2019s going on. Would you ever open up Roswell and let us know what\u2019s going on there?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Donald Jr. was supposedly referring to the highly secretive Area 51 site, which is a popular military base in Nevada that\u2019s been the center of conspiracies.
