{"id":34684,"date":"2015-06-29T13:20:11","date_gmt":"2015-06-29T13:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.trueactivist.com\/?p=34684"},"modified":"2019-02-14T01:05:55","modified_gmt":"2019-02-14T01:05:55","slug":"watch-how-this-1981-film-accurately-predicted-the-current-state-of-the-world-t1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/watch-how-this-1981-film-accurately-predicted-the-current-state-of-the-world-t1\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch How This 1981 Film Accurately Predicted The Current State Of The World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--OffDef--><\/p>\n<div class=\"addthis_jumbo_share\"><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p>This clip from the 1981 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0082783\/\">film<\/a> <em>My Dinner With Andre<\/em> is dubbed &#8216;A Highly <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/top-10-movies-with-a-message-of-truth-and-consciousness\/\">Conscious<\/a> Conversation&#8217;, and is one of those old classic cinematic excerpts (like <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/so-youve-read-orwells-1984-but-this-dark-prophetic-novel-is-just-as-important\/\">Brave<\/a> New World, The <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/gab_gallery\/i-want-you-to-get-mad-network\/\">Network<\/a>, or <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/dont-let-it-happen-orwells-prophetic-final-words-on-the-madness-of-the-modern-world\/\">1984<\/a>) that\u00a0provided an eerie, prophetic\u00a0window into the <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/everyone-on-earth-should-listen-to-prince-eas-beautifully-moving-message-to-future-generations\/\">future<\/a> we are now living in. It touches on subjects such as media brainwashing, the death of intellect and emotion, the <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/shes-69-and-hasnt-used-money-for-15-years-and-has-never-been-happier\/\">money<\/a> system, and <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/awakening-to-the-truth-youve-felt-it-your-entire-life\/\">awakening<\/a> to the truth.<\/p>\n<p>It was directed by Louis Malle and written by Wallace\u00a0Shawn and Andre Gregory, who also star in the movie.<em> My Dinner With Andre<\/em>\u00a0could be described as an\u00a0artistic, intelligent, and very unusual piece of <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/6-mind-expanding-movies-that-will-make-you-question-reality-and-life\/\">cinema<\/a>.\u00a0Wallace, a playwright, and Andre, a theater director, meet in a New York restaurant after years of lost contact, and spend two hours philosophizing about <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/awakening-to-the-truth-youve-felt-it-your-entire-life\/\">life<\/a>, travel, theater, humanism,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/12-signs-you-may-be-spiritual-and-dont-even-know-it\/\">spirituality<\/a> and everything in between.\u00a0Although the conversation seems spontaneous and very natural, the entire dialogue was actually scripted over the period of a year, using authentic recorded\u00a0conversations between the pair. The camera stays with the men for two hours as they eat and drink in &#8216;real time&#8217;, giving the viewer the sense that they are part of this intimate discussion. Critics of the movie might say this is all there is to the story, but they would be missing the point.<\/p>\n<p>Wally, the more rational and pragmatic of the two, listens in astonishment as Andre describes various adventures he&#8217;s had traveling the world. The director\u00a0talks of\u00a0his experiences at Findhorn,\u00a0a\u00a0Scottish <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/inside-the-uks-oldest-green-community-and-why-we-should-all-be-living-this-way\/\">commune<\/a>, in a forest in <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/anti-gmo-protests-rock-poland-as-farmers-demand-food-sovereignty-rights\/\">Poland<\/a>, in the Sahara with a Tibetan <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/this-buddhist-monk-shocked-scientists-with-unheard-of-brain-activity-while-meditating\/\">Buddhist<\/a> monk, and a performance piece he did on Long Island which led to him being buried alive. During the conversation, we get the impression that Wally begins to realize there are <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/joe-rogan-do-what-you-love-because-society-is-a-trap-and-work-is-meaningless\/\">other<\/a> ways of living, other ways of <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/joe-rogan-fk-tradition-and-ideology-just-follow-your-path\/\">perceiving<\/a> the world.<\/p>\n<p>This short clip from &#8216;Educate Inspire Change&#8217; begins with Wally asking Andre whether he believes humanity has become bored; whether we are all just like &#8220;spoiled children.&#8221; Andre replies that he believes we are. But why? Here&#8217;s his theory:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Has it ever occurred to you Wally that the process that creates this boredom that we see in the world may very well be a self-perpetuating, unconscious form of brainwashing created by a world <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/russell-brand-on-bilderberg-2015-you-dont-have-to-believe-the-queen-is-a-lizard-to-be-angry-about-secret-talks\/\">totalitarian<\/a> government based on <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/the-history-of-money-rothschild-banking\/\">money<\/a>, and that all of this is much more dangerous than one thinks?&#8221; Andre continues: &#8220;Somebody who is bored is asleep. And somebody who is asleep will not say no.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Andre talks about how avoiding the <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/russell-brand-on-media-manipulation-bias-distraction-and-corporate-control\/\">media<\/a> could be a\u00a0healthy thing, because &#8220;everything you hear now contributes to turning you into a robot.&#8221; He talks of how big cities are effectively &#8220;concentration camps&#8221;, built by the people themselves to perpetuate their own slavery, with citizens acting as &#8220;both the guards and the prisoners&#8221;. He talks about the need to escape all of this, and the problem of where to go.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;See, the 1960s represented the last burst of the human being\u00a0before he was extinguished,&#8221; Andre suggests.\u00a0<\/em>He talks about how we are now living in the early stages of\u00a0a new dark age, but is hopeful that this era will include &#8220;pockets of light&#8221;, as <a href=\"https:\/\/trueactivist.com\/10-most-influential-books-for-personal-growth\/\">awakened<\/a> humans create a new future in spite of everything. <em>&#8220;We&#8217;re talking about an underground [resistance]&#8221;, Andres tells Wally. &#8220;I keep thinking that what we need is a new language. A language of the heart.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The movie is full of insightful food for thought, and it&#8217;s worth watching the whole film if you enjoyed listening to Andre&#8217;s observations.
