The food will then be sold locally.<\/p>\n<p>Said David Rosenberg, Co-Founder and CEO of AeroFarms:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe want to go where the mouths are. Newark allows us to go to New York City and throughout New Jersey. We\u2019re focused on the places that have economic trouble too\u2014so we can go in and help out.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>LED lights and a controlled environment help the produce mature faster. For example, a seed that usually would take 30 days to grow can reach its full development in 16 days, according to Rosenberg.
