On February 9, 1997, two hunters were roaming near a marsh in the Karcher Wildlife Area in Burlington, Wisconsin, when they made a grisly discovery. It was the corpse of a young girl and she was carefully placed in an unseemly position. The body was that of Amber Creek. 

Though it’s extremely unfortunate when anyone is murdered, Amber’s death was particularly unpleasant. Her frozen corpse in the frost allowed her arm to be positioned upward, as though she was waving, and the word “Hi” had been written on her palm in black marker. A $5 price tag from Woodfield Mall was stuck to her arm in what investigators believe to be an indication of the way she made money. But investigators hadn’t seen everything yet.
