Another Classic Runaway Case

When Kach went missing, everyone believed that she had just runaway again, but this time, she didn’t bother to come back. It would seem, that despite her young age, no one bothered to really try and look for her. Hose even told her that, when he’d get back from working at the school where Kach was last seen, “No one even mentioned your name,” making Kach believe that she was just another ghost that nobody cared about, even her own parents.

Feeling Like Nobody Cared

Kach’s parents had claimed her as a runaway on February 10, 1996. Surprisingly, it would seem that the police hardly gave Kach’s case much importance. Although she was known to be missing, there were hardly any leads or follow up investigations into her disappearance. Tanya Nicole Kach just “fell through the cracks,” as the police would later on report. And although her mom claims that she was distraught over her daughter’s disappearance, there really wasn’t much she was able to do in searching for her then 14-year-old daughter.
