On December 11, Brooke Lynn Crews was given life in prison without the possibility of parole in a North Dakota jail. And when reporters asked Ashton why she ended up choosing not to go to trial, he said, “I think she [Crews] didn’t want a trial because they had way too much against her.” It’s possible that she believed she may have gotten a lighter sentence because of it.
