Finding More Photographs

Hauntingly, upon more investigation into Alcala’s locker, they found what was said to be over 1,000 pictures of people in different places, at various times of day, and in numerous states of undress. The pictures were of men and women, but mostly girls between the ages of 20 to 30. Police also believed that many of his victims were murdered during the times that he would do their ‘portfolios.’ But they wouldn’t find out until they actually brought him to trial.

His First Trial

Finally, Alcala was brought into custody in 1979 after all the evidence was found, and they made sure not to give him a chance for bail. His trial was finally done in 1980 where he was convicted of the murder of Robin Samsoe and sentenced to death. But then the jury, and Robin’s family, would get a huge surprise when his verdict was reversed when the court realized they didn’t have all the information of Alcala’s past crimes.
