The longer the investigation took, the more the family was getting frustrated so they decided to take matters into their own hands. They hired their own private investigators, and alongside them, Brad Garrett, who was a former FBI cold case agent, as well as an ABC News consultant. Garrett quickly began to put together timelines, clues, as well as setting up interviews with known suspects.
