It Was Known As A Tom

While female turkeys are called ‘Hens,’ male turkeys are known as ‘Toms.’ And it was obvious to the couple that they were dealing with a Tom. He was quite large, whereas hens tend to be much smaller. And this particular Tom that found his way inside the Peterson house was quite happy to remain on the plush sofa.

No. 1 Turkey Producing State

In a way, maybe the Peterson’s shouldn’t have been too surprised that a turkey happened to break into their house. Apparently, Minnesota is the number one turkey producing state in the entire United States. Records show that there is an incredible number of 44 to 46 million turkeys raised annually in Minnesota alone!
