Lucy Mercer & FDR

Mercer and Roosevelt had an on-and-off affair from the late 1910s up until his death in April 1945. After initially being caught by Eleanor Roosevelt in 1918, FDR vowed to cut Lucy out of his life, but he continued to see her.

Dwight D. Eisenshower & Kay Summersby

Kay was Eisenhower’s secretary and chauffeur during WWII but their relationship soon turned passionate before he took up the presidential position. The only account of their affair was an autobiography that Kay helped to write while she was dying of cancer.
