Finally, in 2013, Eric would get the chance to apply in the school he had been dreaming of for so long. Colburn, his dream school, was truly the only choice that he was looking into to further his career. His audition would even go brilliantly, and he believed that his dreams of studying there were finally going to come true.

While still in school in Canada, Eric had met and began dating fellow musician Jennifer Lee. The two teens, who were both attending the Schulich School of Music at the Montreal McGill University, would fall in love quickly, and even so more deeply.
