Six Feet Above Ground
With the cabin’s migrated position, Richard had to make a basement floor using concrete. Although he wanted to use mostly all natural materials, it was necessary to use the concrete to make sure that his foundation would be completely viable. Richard also shared that he needed to adjust by using other materials like, ‘white oak to form new floor joists, and split cedar shakes as shingles.’ Then he decided to add a picturesque front porch, the perfect spot to sit down at dawn or dusk to stare out in peace and wonder, or enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
