Hospitals invest heavily on their doctors, especially since they are the ones responsible for bringing in patients. The more patients that visit the hospital for treatment or for surgery means more revenue for the facility. Because of the value of these physicians to the fiscal health of the hospital, protecting them from patient complaints ranks high on their priority list.
