A Spark Of Hope
DNA testing has been very instrumental in helping the Ohio police with their cases. Fourteen thousand rape kits have been brought to a state lab for testing. The Ohio Bureau Of Criminal Investigation (BCI) has tested 90% of these kits, some of which date back to the seventies. More than 200 hits were made, and 600 have been indicted. And the government shows no signs of stopping, giving Cleveland police $2 million dollars to test older rape kits-hopefully bringing more individuals like Jessica Keen to justice. And while nothing will ever bring her back, advances in DNA testing might mean justice for others as it meant justice for her.
