Death Row Appeal
Despite the community’s elation over the death penalty for Rodriguez, his lawyer was still going to try to appeal the sentence. According to the prosecutors though, they were quite certain he wasn’t going to be able to get what he wanted. They went on to explain, “It’s about a guy with a long history of targeting and raping women, and in this case kidnapping, stripping, bagging, tying, brutally raping, viciously murdering a 22-year-old girl. That’s what this case was about. Due process was maintained every step of the way.”
