Paranoia At Its Best
According to police, they have a theory that Lewis may have allowed his paranoia get the best of him. Since he knew about his trouble with the law, it was possible that Lewis believed that the officer he shot was actually after him. And rather than wait for them to get him, he decided to do something about it instead.
