Not Worrying About Her Own Safety
Regardless of knowing whether the shooter was still around, Shelby rushed over and chose to help the man who had been severely injured. While others called for help, and a few other people made their way out to assist as best they could, Shelby was already putting her nursing school practices into good use. Luckily for the officer, she was able to control the wounds and the bleeding while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.
