Last July, a puppy with a broken leg and a maggot infestation was found tied up in a plastic trash bag in Transylvania, Romania. Dehydrated, starved, and suffering from a serious head injury, she would have died if activists with Amicii Dog Rescue hadn’t of found her and rushed her to an animal hospital. After the ordeal took place, Helen Taylor told Bored Panda:
“It is believed that this little pup had had a severe beating in an attempt to end her life.”
Fortunately, at Transylvania Animal Care, the puppy received all the help she needed. Named ‘Anora’, which means ‘light’, doctors first worked to reduce the swelling on her brain, then picked maggots from her flesh one by one and helped revive her with fluids and quality food.
After the puppy’s health stabilized, she was transported to the UK, where Helen Taylor’s family happily adopted her. Recently, Anora underwent surgery to fix her leg. The tale told in photos below shows how a canine on the brink of death was rescued and now lives a joyous life.
