Probably the most famous board game of all time, Monopoly, albeit having numerous copies in hundreds of different themes created, had to start somewhere. Although the original design was said to have been created as early as 1903, the Parker Brothers’ company bought it in the 1930s and the game remains to be one of the most played board games of all time. And while you can get one now for around $30, the very first one costs $146,500.
