G.I. Joe, with his signature motto of “Greatest American Hero,” was considered ‘the world’s first action figure.’ Every girl loved him and every boy wanted to be him. So when the very first prototype that the company based all other G.I. Joe dolls against came out for sale at auction, it was snatched up for a hefty price of $200,000.
