One of the most vocal conservative commentators, Tomi Lahren, was recently suspended from Glenn Beck’s The Blaze days after declaring her support for abortion rights. During an appearance on ABC’s “The View” last Friday, the self-proclaimed ‘Conservative millennial’ mentioned that it would be hypocritical of her to say the government “should decide what women do with their bodies,” as she advocates for limited government.
“I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” she said. “I can sit here and say that, as a Republican and I can say, you know what, I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.”
Days later, Glenn Beck addressed Lahren’s pro-choice stance on his radio show, stating that it lacked “intellectual honesty.” In addition to being suspended from Beck’s show for an unknown period of time, Lahren has received backlash from those who identify as Conservative voters.
As Trevor Noah points out, it is hypocritical of the Conservative community to constantly complain that Liberal voters are “delicate snowflakes” incapable of receiving criticism and then shun a woman who expressed her opinion on the controversial topic of abortion.
Lahren’s contract to appear on The Daily Caller lasts until September, but word is that she may be booted before then. Reportedly, her inflammatory style “has placed her increasingly at odds with co-workers” – not to mention viewers around the world.
