Whether it’s because the Vatican City is in Italy or because Italy is a country with over 87% Catholics residing there, Italy took some time legalizing same sex marriages. In fact, there were quite a number of protestors who were against it. But eventually, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said ‘it is a key issue for equality.’
