Since Patricia took over as her main personality, and since Kim and her multiple identities have been able to work out her past through their art, life has become as enjoyable as possible. The most satisfying thing aside from her artwork has been Aimee, her daughter. She says, “We’re doing something really worthwhile and we’ve also brought up a healthy, well-loved daughter. Being diagnosed with D.I.D. was the best thing that ever happened to us,” speaking in the plural, as she no longer sees herself as a single person. And while not all her personalities accept that there are others, most of them do, and Kim has been able to make it all work, despite all of the complications of a number of various people living inside her head.

Alongside a ghostwriter, Kim was able to share her incredible journey of life, pain, torment, and triumph in her 50 plus years of existence. And while every single day is still wrought with missing keys, unexplained groceries, driving without knowing where she’s off to, it’s also filled with art, her therapy, her daughter, and amazingly, her exhibits all over the world. Kim may not have necessarily meant to share her life with the world at first, but her story is one that the world cannot help but want to know.
