It’s far from easy to comprehend what those who suffer from mental afflictions endure, but thanks to artist Frederico Babina, the task just got a whole lot easier.
The Barcelona-based artist, who is known for creating architecture-inspired work, was inspired to help the public comprehend various disorders of the mind. For this reason, he illustrated 16 different images that depict what various mental illnesses are like for those who are affected by them.
The series, entitled Archiatric, is captivating to say the least, and is further explained in the following animated video.
It’s important to note that though the term ‘mental illness’ has a negative connotation, nearly everyone you know will be affected by at least one disorder of the mind in their lifetime. The most common ones, of course, are depression and anxiety. Though issues such as dementia and Alzheimer’s are more likely to occur as one ages.
