At a recent Democratic debate, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton returned late from the bathroom. Most people would shrug off the inconvenience – not Donald Trump.
Once again, Trump couldn’t hold back from making an epically inappropriate, sexist comment. He remarked:
“I know where she went. It’s disgusting. I don’t want to talk about it.”
Days later, Senator Bernie Sanders hilariously joined in on the conversation and defended Clinton – as well as all women everywhere.
He took a momentary detour from his speech about economic inequality during a campaign stop in Iowa on Tuesday and told the crowd that he was just as baffled as everyone else by Trump’s attack on Clinton.
He stated:
“I don’t know how to break this to you. Donald Trump is very upset.
I don’t know what his relationship with women has been like, but he has discovered that women go to the bathroom, and it’s very upsetting for him.”
He followed this by expressing his confusion at Trump’s lack of knowledge concerning human bodily functions.
“This is a guy who wants to be president of the United States. He must have a very unusual relationship with women.”
Sanders finished his defense of Clinton – and all women – by saying:
“I’ve got to be honest with you. I’ve got to lay it out on the table: I also went to the bathroom. I know. I have to admit it.”
I guess other men are allowed to go to the bathroom, but women, what can we say?”
