Bourdin claimed that the Barclay family knew the real truth about Nicholas’s disappearance, but his mom Beverly insisted on her innocence. The police decided to put her through a polygraph test to see if she was telling the truth. She passed one, but failed the other. And the one other person whom authorities believed may have known even more, Nicholas’s half-brother Jason, had died of a drug overdose during the time of the investigation. Not only was Nicholas’s family never charged for anything, but Nicholas’s body has never been found either, until this day.
