Jaren, who had a boyfriend living with her named Charles Darnell, was known by their neighbors and even the police, to be heavy drug users. And yet, there was no interference in attempting to get the child out of the house despite the various forms of danger the toddler was in. So on the night of June 31, 2009, as Jaren and Charles were passed out high on one of the many drugs they were known to take, the python broke free of its ‘cage.’
