15. Don’t Expect to Have Excellent Coffee Every Time
Guatemala is known for cultivating some of the world’s best coffee varieties, but unknown to many, most of these are exported, leaving the local market with the lower quality beans. Some of the local places ironically serve instant coffee, a big let-down for tourists hoping to get a sample of its famous produce. There are gourmet cafes around, usually in the busy touristy areas such as Antigua, but finding a great coffee shop while on the road is close to impossible.
