Other clues began to pop up while probing for clues and other details during the investigation. Aside from their friend Jane, there was supposedly another sighting of a different man carrying a little girl who looked like she was about the same age as Madeleine, wearing similar floral pajamas. The Irish couple, Mary, and Martin Smith, who were also on vacation there at the time, reported to having seen a man with a small build, between the height of 5’7” to 5’9”, and with short brown hair. They had also said that they had seen him around 10 p.m., which was around the time that Kate had found her daughter missing.
