Although he had nothing to do with the couple on the trip, Rober Murat was a British-Portuguese national who was living in Praia de Luz at the same time when Madeleine McCann vanished. During the time of the investigation, he was named as one of the first possible suspects due to his enthusiastic curiosity over the case of the missing little British girl. A journalist had said that he kept asking questions about the case, seemingly overzealous over the entire incident. His car, house and even his pool was drained and searched in the process, and sadly for the family, no evidence appeared that he had anything to do with Madeleine going missing.
