Holding A Vigil For Laura
Family, friends and other citizens held a vigil on February 5, 2009, right in front of the house of Mele’s parents. Her family expressed their sadness and anger regarding the 23-year sentencing of Michael. Her mother Elizabeth said, “For me, there is no justice. He should be put away for the rest of his life because he took my heart. I hope he melts in jail.”
