Asking For Help

Just like most missing person cases go, searches, posters, and pleas for help were sent all over town and the outer areas of the Smart home. Elizabeth’s parents and siblings were distraught over what had happened to her, and more so because they knew that someone had indeed taken her from her bed in the middle of the night. All they knew was that they needed to find out who took her and pray that she was still alive.

Who Was Immanuel?

5 months into the investigation, without much evidence to go on, Mary Katherine suddenly remembered the person who had taken Elizabeth that fateful night in June. She told her parents that she thought the man who had taken Elizabeth was the drifter who had worked at their home who called himself Immanuel. It would seem that even if he had only seen the Smart daughters for a brief moment, he had become quite obsessed with Elizabeth from that time onwards.
