Treasure In The Rainforest

Zach and Anze also searched the nearby rainforest and were amazed by what they had found. Anze shares, “We were on our way to the Naukati Bay when we made a stop on a small secret island in the middle of nowhere. You can feel a very powerful energy when you see these native totem poles hiding in the rainforest. They were created by a tribe called Tlingit, probably a couple of hundred years ago.”

When Zach first arrived in Alaska, he stayed with a man named Mathau, who he still sees from time to time. Anze explains, “Mathau lives in a cove close to the Prince of Wales Island, where Zach spent his first two years after coming to Alaska.” He still visits and enjoys some of Mathau’s French pressed Hawaiian coffee when he can.
