Almost not believing the events that took place, upon hearing that Andrea was truly gone, Derek opened up to Athena about his planned marriage proposal that he was hoping would take place that night. Athena shares, “He [Derek] told me after she had passed. They were planning on staying on until Thursday in our guest room. He told me, ‘I was planning on asking her this weekend with you guys… We talked about spending the rest of our lives together’.”

They Had Promise Rings

According to one of Andrea’s brothers, Adam, “They had promise rings, and they always talked about it. Derek had asked my dad’s permission. He wanted to start a family with her.” Her other brother shares, “My sister was really happy. She was living her life and had so many dreams and aspirations.” And we’re positive that Derek was a huge part of why she was so elated.
