PC Philpott got in touch with Stimpson, telling him, “We wouldn’t want Molly to come to the police station again about you would we?” And strangely, Stimpson’s reply was “wouldn’t we?” But at the same time, he promised to remove the posts he had written on the social networking site, making the police believe that this would be enough to scare the 26-year old. But rather than be scared, he began to plot her death.

In spite of telling the police, Molly was continuously fearful of Stimpson as he continued to harass her. She eventually blocked him on her social media pages, but Stimpson was managing to follow her via a friend, a woman named Amy Scott whom he had shared a common mental issue, being bipolar. And while the two only knew each other over social media, Scott shared, “When you speak to somebody every day, even if not face to face, you feel like you know them.”
