The three men involved in her kidnapping were 20-year old Steven Powers, 31-year old Joshua Holby and the ‘family acquaintance’ 32-year old Thomas Barker. All 3 men were brought up on charges of kidnapping, sexual assault and false imprisonment of the 15-year old girl.

Awarding Earl For His Good Deeds

Jasmine, her mom, her family, and the Alexandria Police headed by Chief Wyffels, wanted to honor Earl Melchert for his good deeds. They wanted to give him the $7,000 as a reward for helping rescue Jaz and get back to her family, but Earl would completely surprise them by refusing to accept the money and ask for them to give it to Jasmine and her family instead.
