#12 Ise Grand Shrine, Japan 

You are not allowed to visit the Ise Grand Shrine, which is an ancient Shinto shrine dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu. Reportedly, it contains a holy artifact known as the Sacred Mirror which represents “wisdom” or “honesty”. Though the artifact has been stolen, burnt, lost, and even thrown into the sea over the years, it has always been recovered.
