Tours are given of the front of the vaults, but pretty much everything else is off-limits. Some suspect that the reason the LDS church is so willing to invest time, money, and other resource into constructing such a highly-secure underground vault is so Mormon believers can collect records of the deceased and posthumously baptize as many dead people as possible.

#20 Surtsey, Iceland 

Like the Galapagos Islands, this island is restricted from the general public because of its pristine environment. Reportedly, it emerged from the waves in the Atlantic ocean following an extended volcanic eruption in the 1960’s. Only a handful of scientists has ever been allowed to visit the island.
