Afterthoughts
According to Callahan, he called the ordeal, “A view of heaven from a seat in hell.” He even said, “I still don’t regret my 76 days alone in the raft. To this day I feel enlightened by what I went through because it changed me for the better. But would I want to be adrift in the ocean again? No way.” Since his unbelievable experience, he has made many trips back out on the water, but usually with at least one other companion. And after everything he’s experienced, we can’t say we blame him.
