The search went on for years, although the family presumed Anton was dead after awhile with no leads on his whereabouts. Since Anton was involved in activism, they weren’t sure if he had gotten into trouble with bad people or had simply wandered away as a result of his schizophrenia, unsure of how to get back home. It would be nearly 5 long years before they heard anything about Anton again. “When someone disappears you suddenly realize there isn’t a lot you can do,” said Stefan. “We hit a wall.”
