Investigators also had information on someone who called Jessica that night at around 5:00 pm. Jessica left the house after the phone call. They investigated the caller but believed that the person had nothing to do with Jessica’s death.

After the call, Jessica told her mother that she was heading out to clean her car and get some food. Some witnesses told investigators that she stopped by someone’s house in Courtland at around 6:00 pm. A few minutes later, she was in Batesville.
